Mergers & Acquisitions Strategy
3.1 Business Overview
The Burnratty Investment Group seeks to consolidate the highly fragmented Ugandan health sector with the intention of experiencing fast paced rapid growth through the acquisition (rolling up) of small and medium sized businesses with a 20 – 40% profit margin at a 3 – 5X EBITDA, all the while building it to a billion-dollar valuation with a dominant presence in East Africa, Africa and the global healthcare sector.
3.2 The Dream
The Burnratty Investment Group is a Ugandan for-profit investment group founded by Mukisa Joshua William in 2021 and based in Kampala Capital City.
We seek to own and operate over 10,000 hospitals with approximately 50,000 sites of care by 2029 across Uganda and the East African Region.
We aim to conduct large-scale clinical research in partnership with Makerere University, Mulago Hospital and the Ministry of Health, publishing peer-reviewed medical studies using data gathered from our operations.
Our investment group shall acquire established hospitals and medical practices and transform them into top-tier institutions under Burnratty Healthcare.
In our pre-money phase, we aim to acquire 10 hospitals and manage 40 hospitals within the first two months of operation with a minimum of 2,000 beds.
By the end of 2027, we shall operate over 500 hospitals with more than 49,000 beds and achieve a billion-dollar valuation.
By the end of 2029, we shall operate at least 100 hospitals and approximately 2,000 sites of care in each East African country.
We shall leverage telemedicine, digital healthcare, drones for delivery, and real-time patient tracking technologies through the Burnratty Healthcare App to reduce patient wait times to between 5–10 minutes, with a target of zero waiting time.
We aim to deliver one in every fifteen babies born in East Africa while reducing maternal mortality rates significantly below regional averages.
We shall invest heavily in workforce education, supporting over 200,000 employees including nurses and physicians, and provide tuition reimbursement and hardship support through The Burnratty Investment Group Fund.
Through the Burnratty Foundation, we shall support community health initiatives, scholarships, youth development programs, and not-for-profit organizations in all areas of operation.
